Vidya Social Empowerment Center ( VSEC), is an initiative to implement the social empowerment activities to empower the essential pillars of the society namely parents, children, youth and teachers. These essential pillars are categorised under VSEC as four wings namely Training, Moulding, Budding and Blooming. VSEC extends support to bolster self-confidence and self-responsibility to ensure a socially committed sustainable living by conducting training, awareness and motivational programmes in relevant topics.

A new batch of 24 student volunteers were given training for Social empowerment activities. A group of first year B.Tech students of VAST joined hands for VSEC’s ‘Training of Trainers’ training program conducted on 18 June 2022. The first half of the session was handled by Ms Akhila R which  included ice breaking activities, talk on communication skills and nonverbal communication. The tips while giving a presentation and activities to be included were also discussed.

In the second session, Mr Alex stressed on the importance of moral values and leadership skills. The resource person motivated the participants to consider themselves with limitless possibilities  to generate the feeling of self empowerment. Students were given an opportunity to bring out ideas for small projects through short group discussions.  Students through their feedback expressed their passionate  involvement in the events and they would contribute in creating and building stronger communities. They could feel the connectivity among the fellow participants and had the strong belief in contributing to future events under VSEC. The excellent involvement of the student volunteers and support of VSEC team, made the event a great success. Dr Siju K C (Asst Prof, AS Dept and Head of VSEC) gave a general overview about  Vidya Social Empowerment Center. Mr. P.N. Unnirajan IPS Retd. (Administration Director and Advisor of VSEC) was also present during the training program.
