Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC) organized a workshop on “Mentoring the Mentors” on 21 May 2022 in Advanced Computer Lab of the College. The resource person for the programme was Dr Seena Devaki, consultant psychiatrist, based in UK.
The program was exclusively for school teachers. As many as 60 teachers registered for the programme and as many as 42 persons, including both external and internal staff, participated in the programme. The programme was also made available in the online mode via the ZOOM platform and more than 20 teachers attended the programme in the online mode. The online mode was completely handled by Mr Jesto K J, VSEC student volunteer with full technical support from Mr Shali K R, System Administrator. The programme was coordinated by Ms Akhila R (AP, EEE Dept), and Ms Salkala K S (AP, MCA Dept).
The inaugural ceremony was held at 10.30 AM. Vaanisha Murali, VSEC student volunteer handled the compering of the event very beautifully. Invocation was rendered by Silpa V S and Akhila M, VSEC student volunteers. Dr Siju K C, Head of VSEC, welcomed everyone to the session. The programme was presided by Dr Saji C B, Principal and was inaugurated by Er P K Asokan, Chief Patron, Vidya International Charitable Trust. He also introduced the chief guest Dr Seena Devaki. Mr Suresh Lal, Executive Director, VICT felicitated the audience and congratulated the VSEC team for the organizing the workshop. The programme also had the gracious presence of Mr Thilakan K K, Executive Committee Member, VICT and Mr Unnirajan P, IPS (retired), Administrative Director, VICT and also all the Heads of the Departments. All the speakers stressed the importance of mentoring.
Following this, Dr Seena Devaki presented her talk. It was an extremely interactive session including a question-answer session where many participants. The chief guest was presented with a memento as a token of love and gratitude. Ms Akhila R (AP, EEE Dept and Programme Coordinator) delivered the vote of thanks.
