The orientation program of Vidya Social Empowerment Centre (VSEC), an initiative of Vidya International Charitable Trust (VICT) was conducted on 20 August 2024 to welcome new members and provide them with a comprehensive overview of the center’s mission, vision, and activities. The program aimed to set the stage for awareness through meaningful engagement, collaboration, the objectives and benefits of VSEC. The event featured a series of insightful sessions and activities, facilitated by key members of VSEC. The program commenced with a prayer led by Krishnaveni T(S7, ECE Dept, VSEC Volunteer), setting a serene and focused atmosphere for the orientation. The anchoring of the event was skillfully handled by Gayathri Gireesh (S7, ECE Dept, VSEC Volunteer), who guided the flow of the program smoothly and kept the audience engaged. Following the opening, Sinan Sulaiman (S7, ME Dept, VSEC Volunteer) provided an informative introduction to VSEC, outlining the organization’s goals, programs, and the vital role it plays in empowering communities through education and capacity-building initiatives. His presentation offered participants a clear understanding of VSEC’s purpose and the impact of its work. The next segment of the orientation was a thought-provoking talk on responsibilities, hosted by Varundev A V (S7, ECE Dept, VSEC Volunteer). He highlighted the importance of understanding and embracing responsibilities in social work, encouraging participants to be proactive, accountable, and committed in their roles within the organization. The media coverage for the program was managed by Arjun Krishna K V (S5, EEE Dept,VSEC Volunteer), ensuring that all sessions were recorded and documented effectively. This allowed for smooth transitions between segments and provided valuable resources for future reference. Dr Siju K C (Head of VSEC, Asso Prof, AS Dept), and Ms Surabhi M S (Assistant Librarian, VSEC Member) also took the stage to introduce themselves and share their experiences. They discussed their journeys with VSEC, their motivations for joining the center, and their hopes for its future impact. Their introductions added a personal touch to the program, inspiring new members to actively participate and contribute to the center’s mission. |
